My Approach:

As a dedicated therapist, I am committed to providing a supportive and nonjudgmental environment for clients to share their experiences. With a focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship, my hope is to identify and help cultivate the positive changes clients desire for their lives.  My approach is always client-centred and responsive to the specific needs and goals of each client, throughout the process.

Areas of Expertise:

I specialize in providing individual and couples therapy services to help my clients navigate through life's challenges. With a compassionate and personalized approach, I utilize a variety of approaches in an integrated, creative, and seamless way.

Pyschodynamic Psychotherapy

Therapy begins by establishing a safe space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences.  Psychodynamic psychotherapy focusses on the interactions that exist within yourself, with others, and your environment, that have created your current reality.  We will likely explore the impact of past events, current stressors and assets, and future anxieties and dreams on your well-being.  We will work together noticing patterns and shifting attention toward your genuine desire beneath what often keeps you feeling stuck.

Attachment & Relationships:

Using a Psychodyamic approach that integrates attachment theory I help individuals and couples identify and work with recurring relationship patterns that often have some deep roots. By working together, clients can develop more awareness, effective coping strategies, and practice new approaches to problem solving, conflict, and communication in their relationships.

Emotions Focussed & Somatic Therapy

I have experience working with clients with a range of trauma history.  Using somatic and emotions focussed approaches, my aim is to help clients regain a sense of safety and agency in their bodies.  Creating capacity and self-trust is a critical step to begin processing their trauma. Working with trauma can be a slow process, but as self trust increases and the ability to feel and move through the emotional impact of trauma, healing begins to take place.

About Me:

Before starting a career as a Psychotherapist, I have worked in a variety of fields including; manual labour, trades, retail, hospitality, camping, swimming instruction, church and youth-work, music and the arts.  My interests span from hiking, canoeing, and backpacking, to playing and writing music, spending time with family and friends, travel, food & wine, building projects and sports.  I have worked with teams, and been a solo entrepreneur.

With a diverse range of experiences, I try to bring a creative, warm, intuitive, and curious approach to my work with clients.

I have experienced many seasons of life, grief, depression, low self-worth, difficult and sudden life transitions, relationship issues, personal growth, stubbornness, burnout, religious and cultural trauma, success and failure.

I imagine that your life experiences are as unique and varied as mine, and I look forward to getting to know you and hearing your story.
